Coinbase Initiate Plans To Establish Office In New York

The biggest U.S cryptocurrency company; Coinbase in May made public its desire to close down the California office base. However, it is currently working on establishing its first office in New York without much ado. In a report by the New York Post, the cryptocurrency company has signed a sublet agreement of 30,000 square feet of Steven Cohen’s Point 72 firm at 55 Hudson Yards in New York.

According to information gathered from a real estate firm, the proposed Coinbase office in New York will only take a small portion of the Point 72 339,000 square feet. Hudson Yards as contained in the report has majorly been home to large companies, the press and legal enterprises. Technology firms are not known to have a place before now.Anonymous analyst opined that establishing the crypto firm was just not novel to the Hudson Yard but to the West in entirety.

Coinbase became a household name after it was brought to the focus by its Nasdaq listing back in April. The crypto company which is famous for not having a base, a fact buttressed by its CEO and cocreator Brian Armstrong in February 2021 during a formal announcement. In the previous month, Coinbase proposed to close down its San Francisco base in the coming year, as part of its dedication to remote operation.

Brian emphasized that the proposed shut down is geared to the end that no office becomes an unauthorized base. The aim is for employees to work from different areas or or other office networks of the company they choose to. Cointelegraph earlier said that Coinbase decision to operate remotely at this initial time rhymes with Binance no head office take. Binance CEO in 2019 reportedly classed workplaces and their base as obsolete.
